Open Call for the Illustrators Survival Corner at the Bologna Children's Books Fair 2025

Karen Mueller

Are you an illustrator and would you like to be part of the Illustrators Survival Corner teaching program at the 2025 edition of the Bologna International Children's Book Fair?

The Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB) is collaborating with the Bologna Children's Book Fair with the aim of having two illustrators from the Balearic Islands participate as teachers in the Illustrators Survival Corner program of activities, which the festival is organizing from March 31 to April 3 in Bologna, Italy.

The fair invites these illustrators to teach a workshop and/or a master class. The activities must be taught in English.

In addition, the selected illustrators have the opportunity to show their work to two editors from the group of professionals who participate in the portfolio viewing sessions organized at the Illustrators Survival Corner.

This call is aimed at professional illustrators residing in the Balearic Islands or native to the archipelago.

The management of the fair and the Illustrators Survival Corner will select the two Balearic participants.

The IEB manages and covers the travel and accommodation of the illustrators for their participation in the fair. In addition, it pays them €350 as fees, upon presentation of an invoice.

To participate in the selection process, send an email to opencall@iebalearics.org, with your professional background and a representative dossier of your illustration projects in Spanish or English.

If you have any queries or questions, please contact Karen Müller at kmueller@iebalearics.org.

Registration for the call: until February 2, 2025.

Announcement of selected participants: until February 7, 2025.
